Stairs and landings

Hanson provides a comprehensive design and manufacturing services for both standard and bespoke precast concrete staircases and landings. Ongoing investment in adjustable moulds means we can meet most requirements quickly and economically. However, where required we will design and commission bespoke moulds.

The standard precast concrete staircase and landings ranges include both straight flights and the unique range of Uniflight precast winding staircases.

Precast concrete staircases can be used in most commercial and domestic projects which offer numerous advantages over alternative timber structures:

• Rapid, straight forward installation.
• No propping or expensive, time-consuming formwork
• Immediate access for follow-on trades
• Inherent fire resistance
• Excellent noise reduction and sound insulation.

In addition to straight flights Hanson also produces the unique Uniflight winding staircase, which is available in both L U configurations.

Designed to emulate traditional timber staircases with winders radiating round the Newell Post, Uniflight offers a reduced plan area over alternatives, together with excellent sound insulation and a high quality ex-mould soffit, suitable for direct decoration.

Installed using special adjustable support brackets located in the openings in the stairwell, Uniflight staircases can be installed as the building progresses, providing immediate and safe access to following floors.
