Hanson wins at the Brick Awards 2007
Bricks from Hanson Building Products were specified on two of the winning projects at this years prestigious Brick Awards, organised by the Brick Development Association. The Awards, organised by Building took place on Monday 5 November at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel, London.
The winning projects on which Hanson products featured were the GMPTE Headquarters in Manchester and the Hanson EcoHouse, BRE, Watford.
The GMPTE Headquarters was the winner of the Best Commercial Building. The jury appreciated the skilful way this building has been grafted into the city and enjoyed the crisp detailing that contributes to its ordered and methodical appearance.

The Hanson EcoHouse, BRE, Watford was the winner of the Innovative Use of Brick and Clay Products category.
This house is a step on the way to the zero-carbon target of 2016. The walling system provides pre-finished, insulated brick / block cavity walls in panels up to 9m x 3m. The house demonstrates the advantages of thermal mass and the effectiveness of stack ventilation.
