Donated stone airlifted by helicopter has been used to repair two stretches of the Three Peaks pathway in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  The park authority’s Steve Hastie was delighted with the 99 tonnes of 20-millimetre stone from Ingleton quarry. “It’s a brilliant donation and really helps our funding go further,” said Steve, area ranger and project manager. Dynamic system is an energy saver

A power balancing system called Dynamic Demand is being installed at 29 operational sites in a phased rollout. It allows items such as heated bitumen tanks and pumps used to dewater quarries to intelligently shift demand for energy, reducing consumption at peak times and increasing it at quieter periods. This flexibility helps the National Grid manage the system and supports the integration of variable power sources such as wind and solar.
