Hanson lays foundations for high profile i360

Hanson supplied 570m3 of concrete on Saturday May 30th to help form the base of Brighton’s i360, which is set to be England’s tallest observation tower outside of London. The pour took a little under 12 hours to complete.

More than one hundred deliveries were made from the company’s Shoreham and Burgess Hill concrete plants in Sussex. Trucks arrived at regular intervals from 06.00am to avoid congestion and minimise disruption.

Construction on the seafront site started last summer and the i360, designed by the team behind the London Eye, will stand 162 metres tall and house an observation pod at 138 metres. It is expected to be completed mid-2016.
