Hanson wins the BRMCA Excellence in Customer Service award

Hanson has won the BRMCA Excellence in Customer Service Award at the 2017 Concrete Society Awards for the second year running.

This year’s winning two projects, which were running in tandem for Story Contracting on behalf of Network Rail, cover the reinstatement of the historic Carlisle to Settle railway, at Eden Brows, and the upgrade of the Birkenhead to Liverpool Loop Line.

The tight timescales of both projects meant that the contractor had to be confident that solutions could be formulated and delivered on time, first time. Although the projects were separate, early discussions and progress meetings treated both contracts as one from a technical solutions perspective.

Terry Balmer, Hanson Concrete technical services manager, said: “We are thrilled that our focus on customer service has been recognised by this award.

“It is not just the clever technical aspects that make this submission stand out; it’s the commitment from all involved – production staff, logistics and technical – to really deliver exceptional customer service and once again challenge the boundaries of engineering development.

“Congratulations to all involved on both these projects for making them such a success.”
