Bishopsgate tower

High-performance concrete from three of our central London plants is being used to build the capital’s second tallest skyscraper. When it opens in 2019, the 22 Bishopsgate tower will have 62 storeys and stand 278 metres tall, just 31 metres short of The Shard.

High-strength concretes are being used for its central cores, with lightweight mixes supplied for suspended floors. The materials are produced at our Kings Cross, Silvertown and Victoria Deep (Greenwich) plants, backed up by Acton. All the main mixes use cement substitute Regen to improve durability and sustainability.

Technical sales manager Jasen Gauld said winning the latest order was down to a well-established relationship with the contractor P J Carey and a reputation as dependable concrete experts.
